YES !   YES !   YES !   YES !  YES !

I got the ski-shakes all over again. My co-workers definitely will be questioning my sanity today and then again on friday because

ABASIN OPENS FRIDAY !

Of course, Ullr still needs to start drinking heavily and go to the storm cloud bathroom and relieve himself to be able to drop some serious snow around to make it more than two WROD hills, but you can still see September in the rear view mirror; so i am indeed stoked !

I hate stupid post like this. Global implies the entire ummm globe, if the entire globe warms as a whole it doesnt mean sections can actually be colder.

and FYI as the globe warms the rockies, especially the higher peaks in colorado stand to get more snow in the short term.

sorry this really isnt directed at you, more like something people can read to read the truth.

cheers on the WROD!!! if you go today and dont go closing day you are a twit  though.

Ok,

next year Loveland is just going to have to fly me in for opening day.

i checked out their pictures and it is just not good publicity for them. Practically all of those guys needed to shave or had pony tails, their clothes looked like they would look out of place anywhere except the circus or mardi gras and their was maybe one good looking chick.

i shave every day, my clothes match and are in style and jennifer anniston calls me all the time begging me to go anywhere with her. if i was in those pictures, skiers would be making a bee line to loveland this weekend and skip abasin.

I'm glad I saw this, because your moniker made me assume that you were a good lookin' 40-50ish lady. Now I realize that you're probably a UH alumnus and/or fan.

I was thinking the same thing!

On another note.  I have a 1 ski quiver so I am assuming I should not bring my good skis for early season turns.

virtus and aggie, you really dont want to have those thoughts about me. i got hair growing all over the place, my back is bigger than my chest and i sometimes skip showering on weekends. there is no way i'm passing for hot, middle aged woman that still looks good in a swimsuit unless you're from redneckville.

and slider, more skishakes to come; the basin opens tomorrow and its snowing all over summit county now-at  3 pm MT - brecklivecam.com

I already know the answer, but I'll ask anyway.
I'm going to be in Boulder for a one-day meeting at the end of October.
Is it worth bringing my skis?

How badly do you want to ski?  I suspect it will be quite crowded with only a run or two open.  If your itch has to be scratched, then go for it.

That being said, I suspect you'd be happier if you rented some gear and skied for a couple of hours.  That way you don't have to schlep the stuff from whereever for a few runs.
