I am looking to buy some new skis for my soon to be 9 year old. This time I want to get him some twin tips. When buying kids twin tips should you go longer like you would with adult twins? I was thinking I would scale that and go 5 cm longer, but the problem is there is a 10-12 cm jump generally in kids ski sizes.
He is currently skiing Volkl Unlimited Jr. 100 cm which were just a tad short for him at the end of last year. That was his second year on those skis. I am looking at the K2 Indy Jr. (twin tip) of which my choices are 112 cm (about chin height) or 124 cm (about forehead height). He is just now moving to carved turns and exploring more of the mountain.
He is 4'3" and about 50-55 lbs.
What do you think?
