What does the "FB" stand for in a Volant Machete FB?

Yes, it's true, I just got a pair of Machete FB's in the 185 length and I don't even know what the FB is for!!!  Sheesh, at least in my earlier model Machete "SIN"s I pretty much had a clue!    :-)
I am an older. strong, expert skiier, 220 lbs; can't wait to aim these at some powder and crud!  Skiing's almost here doooods!

Hey welcome aboard.  I have those skis in a 175.  The FB stands for Fat Ba$+ard.  That's what shane wanted to call these.  Apparently the name was taken so he settled for FB. They have the newer Chubb side cut and they are stiffer.  They are an ok powder ski-its what I use,but certainly not the best. All that stainless gives great edge hold and they bust tracked powder great.  Suprisingly quick in steep stuff.  Man are they heavy.  I really feel them on multi day trips.  I avoid mogels because 1 they are heavy and 2 I am paranoid about bending them (they have an ugly reputaion for doing this, but with 30 ro 40 dyas so far alls good).  Initially I mounted them with look p12 at the mounting mark which is cord center.  They were quite quick here, but powder performace suffered.  Moved them back 1.5 cm (wanted 2, but no room) and I think they are a bit easier to keep the tips up.  Fun ski and I love the looks.  Plus with Shane passing it is nice to have something he had input in.

I just got a pair of them too, 185s, and am impressed with how burly the flex is, you have around 35 lbs on me, so I expect you should flex the easily and they will be a really damp stable ride.

It's the Facebook special edition model.  It automatically updates your status to "ripping" when you click into the bindings.

This one came a year before the "OMG" model.

I have a pair of those.  A friend bestowed them upon me and I skied them one day, someone in the lift line said," Hey She's got fat bastards."
My husband didn't think that was very nice.
I said, "no honey you're not the fat bastard, you're "hey stupid""

Thanks everybody for puttin yer 2 cents in, I am STOKED to get these on and point em at some old-tracked-crud-powder (saw too much of that last season)... I think the weight of the ski is allot of why it's so dang stable in the crappier days old fluff, so I will happily deal wit dat!   :-)
Have a GREAT season-   Marty Moose

No, no, no everyone is totally wrong.  FB stands for Fart Bag.  You can only ski these skis while wearing a neon one piecer!

Hooohwhee, that sure was clever. Next maybe draw the comparison between Volants and gray hair, that would be equally witty. I can hardly wait.
