Any reco's or good deals known on boots to replace Salomon XWave 10's?  Intermediate/Advanced Skier.  Need something a little on the stiff for my 250# size, I think. XWaves have been a great boot but time to go.

You could start with the Salomon Impact Pro.

At your weight catagory a stiffer boot would be in order, something in the 120 flex range, which the Impact 10 CS is rated---or the X3 Lab RC CS which is a 130 flex.

Sorry for not knowing the lingo.  What is the X3 Lab RC CS?  Also, do you know of any good deals on last years models out there?

Thanks,

Jim

The X3 is a good bit narrower than the XWave though, isn't it?

Last year's Solly Impact 10 is a noodle compared to your XWave 10.  The Impact 10 Pro is stiffer, but good luck finding one.  I couldn't find a pair last year mid season.  They stopped production for the new models this year.

This year's Impact 10 CS is a 120 flex, so slightly stiffer than your old XW10's.

I'm in the same boat as you, need to replace my XW10's.  I just tried the Impact 9 (110 flex) on and it is the same flex as my XW10's (also 110).

I have Impact 10CS's on order.

If, at your size, you want even stiffer, the Solly Ghost is a 130 flex, but I'd bet you'll be fine in the new Impact 10 CS.

What size?  There is a pair of 28.0 X Wave 10's sitting at the HV ski shop.  They are a few seasons old and leftover, I'm sure the price is real good.

The X3 Lab RC CS is the new custom shell which can be expanded to 104mm width(starts at 98mm)---the impact 10s will expand to 106mm(start at 100mm)

Thanks Matt for the info.  Unfortunately, I am in a 29.5mm boot now.  I will check out the Impact 10CS.

Sierra, is your comment a tongue in cheek method of telling me I have posted inappropriately?  If my post is in the wrong place, I apologize.  Just looking for some help from the Bear Experts.

I have to ask, because so many are so incorrectly fitted...do you really wear a size 13+ shoe to be in a 29.5 boot?
