Thanks ... I am a K2 guy, so when this deal came by I could not pass it up.

I had a really difficult time last year when I demo'ed some skis that were 104 underfoot, and the twin tips I tried were okay but did not do that great on the groomers, so I think the Recon, with a little more girth and width than the Axis's, will be a fun ski this year.

Hope you got a good deal, cause you can find Mythic Riders 08/09's for under $400 and 07/08 for just over $300.  That's even with the fluid system.

I had Axis Pros for a couple of seasons, and the Recon's for about a month. Don't let go of the Axis - my experience was the Axis was a far better ski in virtually all conditions. Just as many years ago I always regretted letting go of my Rossi ST650's for some ST Comps, the Recon's were a real step down from the Axis that I always regretted making. Sorry.

Not everyone; ski them if you like them, that is all that matters.  Skied the Explorer, Recon, and Outlaw last year.  They were all good skis but just not the responses I was looking for.  Your feelings about those skis is all that matters.

Don't worry about it.  There is always somebody out there looking to pee in your Post Toasties.

Growing old is mandatory.  Growing up is optional.

Which new K2s? You mean the Recon that has been on the market for like 8 years?

Every review I have seen on skis like the  PE / Extreme and OBseth and phatluv and pontoons have been positive. The Xplorer and new Crossfire are generally positive too.

Got the skis today and they look fast ...

I figure that $299 is not too bad of a deal for new skis and bindings (Marker M12).  All I need is to adjust them to my boots and maybe a new ski tune and I am ready for the snow.

My brother also got a great deal on some Head Monster 77's with Tyrolia HD 14 bindings ... $150.

Now we just need some snow!
