Since it appears that there will be no Big Sky ESA this year, I'd definitely consider a gathering.  Perhaps a (crazy thought) ESA Alumni GTG??

If they don't have an ESA at Big Sky I'm willing to teach at a MBSA (Montana Bear Ski Academy) where we'd cover things the ESA never gets around to like successful high altitude drinking without hangovers, ski gear purchases you can make at your local farming store, creative parking at ski areas....

First off, the vetenary section is a great place to get cheap pain medications.  You'll have to attend the clinic if you want to learn more.

Treat your creaky old dog and your creaky old knees with the same pain killer, eh?

I thought you were going to advocate Carhart covers for the cold winds.

I'm planning a trip with some other 50-ish ski geezers for around the 1st of Feb.   Any insider info on cheap pain meds would be like gold to this group.

Bag Balm  , good for everything from a rash to binding lubrication.  No farm supply will be without it.

Right, people around here put Bag Balm on everything and although I don't recommend it, I also knew one old codger who used to spray WD40 on his knes.  He swore it helped.  (Please don't thry this at home...there are many toxins in WD40, but this guy lived to be 80+ so what do I know?)

Momentum is a terrible thing to waste.

The Moose Drool homebrew beer didn't turn out too bad, especially if you like hops.  The trick now is to NOT drink it all before February - I don't know if I can manage that!

Not to hijack the thread or anything, but I've got a group coming to Big Sky starting about Feb. 4th.  We're going to hit Big Sky, Bridger Bowl, and Red Lodge.  I'm looking to set up a day of something special, such as cat skiing or guided backcountry / sidecountry.  I haven't seen much of anything on cat skiing, other than up at Whitefish (Valhalla).  Do you guys know of anything like this that's available around any of these areas.  I'll start a separate thread on this, but I figure I've got a good target audience here on this one.

They used to have cat skiing at Lone Mountain but the area they used was consumed by Moonlight Basin.  There is a local outfit called First Tracks that advertises back country skiing in the Bridgers but I don't know much about them.  Their uninformative website is www.getfirsttracks.com/Home%20Page.html

If you need a tour of Bridger Bowl and promise not to whine about all the moguls let me know and I'll try to meet up with you.

I try not to whine about moguls, but are these extra-strength moguls we're talking about?

I checked out the First Tracks website yesterday, and it is, yes, quite uninformative.  It doesn't seem as if they have their own equipment (i.e. helicopters, cats, what have you...).
