Last season, not counting all the kids' Patagonia uppers, lowers, ski socks, etc. etc., I purchased:
1. Yakima "Sky Box" pod (16 cu. ft.) -- works great; easy-on easy-off, strong, no wind whistling effect.
2. Camelbak Zoid winter hydropack-- beautiful swag, works well, but I only use it about 1 in every 3 times out.
3. Rossi skis / youth (model?) -- had rented these for the season for my son and then purchased them real cheap at the end of the season. Now, at the rate he's growing, they'll probably be too small by the time we have snow this season.
For those who remember, I also started a long thread on walkie-talkies. But I just couldn't pull the trigger on them -- the idea of reading the instructions, remembering what all the buttons did, having my daughter lose hers by Day 3 of skiing, etc. It was just too much. And I didn't lose either of my kids all season.....
Now, my early season lust is for kick-a$$ goggles: polarized, photochromic,
spherical lenses, illegal to export to China, etc.
