Amazing SkyTec Training Machine

I had the opportunity to test an amazing ski training machine.  See it on these websites:

www.4seasonsskiing.com   or  www.indoorski.ca  (they are the samesite)

also

www.ski-trainer.com/en/.../skytec-ski-training-machines-on

and there are some You Tube videaos as well

www.youtube.com/watch?v=tqmwE3rU7nU   and www.youtube.com/?v=UYQlv1rDt78

In my view its a whole new world for training.  I gave it a test run along with some former national team members and coaches and everyone loved it!  I even had my 9 YO daughter on it.  It was great for her to work on improved separation, angulation and weighting her downhill edges.  The harder you lean over the ski the fast it moves you across the device.  Once you trust the machine it really mimics the skiing experience very well.  They even have a screen that reflects your performance on screen.

I think the Toronto, Canada location is the first of its kind in North America although I understand they have been a big hit in Germany and are used in the Olympic training centre in Russia.

Lots of fun, great ski fitness and training device.  It worked very well for coaching as you might imagine as well.  You can even race against others.

Has anyone else heard anything about this simulator?

Looks like a new twist on an old idea.

Kind of like the Mogul Slope at Snowcrest in Chicago.

That thing is too cool! I like my skier's edge machine, but this is a whole new level.

I wonder how much they cost?

It's awesome!

I'm not sure about cost but will check it out.  Given its size (5.5M or 18 ft long), its too big for my basement but I'll definitely make use of it when their facility opens.  I think they plan on opening a series of locations across North America.  The guys in Toronto also have the exclusive rights to market/sell the machines in North America.

The only downside was I found out how out of shape I am for the upcoming season.  Great workout.  I was dying after about 20 mins.  That's a hell of a long run without a break mid you.
