As a Vikes fan I'm so embarrassed.  Unless they win the SuperBowl this will be a total failure and wast of resources

Negotiations. Bah .  Handing off to Adrian Peterson somehow appealed to his play action passsensibilities. I heard he has a no spring training clause of some kind. Can anybody elaborate ?

I wholeheartedly agree!  Except I won't wait for the Super Bowl to roll around.  I'll call this a waste of time, money and resources right now.  The "I bleed purple and gold" fans are screaming that management has betrayed the fans by bringing in this former cheesehead, but what's worse is they brought in a washed-up cheesehead who doesn't know when it's time to walk away from the game.  He'll light up a few teams early in the season and then will be on the bench with injuries by December and we will be right back to picking between Rosenwhatever or Booty (Jackson and his big contract will be long gone by then).

Being from the midwest and having the Lions on my "Can't possibly root for them" list, I've been known to follow Packers and Vikings.
As much as I loved Favre when he played for the Packers, I'm wondering what the heck is up with his revolving door?

Every time he comes back, he diminishes what his fans love(d) about him.

I for one am happy to hear the news...now people won't be focusing on Vick getting picked up by the Eagles!

Plexico Burress just got drafted to "The Longest Yard League".  He has a 2 year contract to play with the cons against the guards.

Ol' #4 is supposed to get his first action as a MN Viking tonight against the Chiefs.  Any bets that his first pass is intercepted?

And, he gets hurt trying to make a tackle on the play.
That would be just classic.

Anybody want to trade Farve for Jake Delhomme?  Of th eteams I like, theVikes, Giants, and Cowboys opened up with wins.  The Panthers quarterback sucks even worse than usual so far.  People here in NC are putting up ads on Craigslist for a "Free Quarterback".  It's pretty sad.

As a long-term Vikings fan who fell in love with the team during the "purple-people eaters" days, I have to admit this has been fun so far.  I have no illusions of grandeur here, but anything that keeps me from having to watch the Vikes hang their hats on Tarvaris Jackson is well worth it!  I guess we are always one play away from having to watch the Jackson show again, but for now it's entertaining.

If sense were common, everyone would have it!

In 75 (ish?) I had an autographed team photo on my wall in Burnsville.  Sammy White, Fran Tarkenton, Allan Page Ron Yary, Carl Eller. Jim Marshall, and on and on.  I moved to the Dallas area in 1989 and I remember getting up and leaving a bar when Drew Pearson came up and sat down.  I eventually learned to like the Cowboys when they started winning SuperBowls in the mid 90s. I also didn't mind the Stars following me down there and winning a cup while I was there.   I''m a fair weather fan for the teams that represent the many areas of this great country I have lived in.  But, I still bleed purple and gold.  I went to Oklahoma as an undergrad so I often sport a Purple and Gold #28 Peterson jersey on gameday

My problem with Favre was back when he was asked to mentor the up and coming quarterback and he said that was not his job. IMHO, as far as success, he owed as much to the Packers as the Packers owned to him and for him to go out of his way to deny the teams request showed his his colors.

True.  Basically Farve got snippy at the possibility of moving from starter to back up... so he took his ball and went to the Jets.  Many of us have been in a position where our manager asks us to train our replacement.  Many times we don't want to be replaced.

We enjoyed the Vikes/Bangles game today. Since Cincy beat my Boyz twice this year, and the Boyz whipped the Vikes, it was good justice watching the Vikes have some fun with the Bangles. Say what you will about Favre, but for an old guy, he still gets it done.

Peppers rocked it like Lawrence Taylor did it in the 80s!  I've always liked Peppers.  Too bad this is too little too late for him/them this season.

I suspect they were playin' possum.  We can get they will show up tonight in a big way.  Problem is the identity complex between the McNabb and Vick offense.  I'll be pulling for the Cowboys here but in the end the Vikes are my heartfelt favorite team remaining.  I've already seen plenty of Cowboy Superbowl titles.  If the Vikes could pull this off it would be.. well...  EPIC!

The only thing that will stop me from going skiing on super sunday is WHEN the Vikes play .

 Slowly leaving Goonsville.

OMG!  I just had this thought.  What if the Vikes end up having to play the Packers AGAIN for the NFC championship?  They seem to have handled them quite well twice already this year, but it would be devestating to me for Green Bay to laugh last in that trilogy.

Your and my suspicions, unfortunately not the case. Dallas owned them in every aspect of the game. I guess the Iggles peaked too early.
