Wimbledon hopeful Simona Halep wants surgery to reduce the size of her breasts.

Halep is seen as one of the tennis stars of the future after winning a host of junior titles and a place in the final of the junior French Open last year.

But the 5-foot-5-inch Romanian tennis star said she thinks her 34DD bust is holding her back.

"This fall I'll have a breast reduction operation," Halep said. "The breasts make me uncomfortable when I play."

"It's the weight that troubles me (and) my ability to react quickly," she added.

OK well I just have to comment.

This is really one of the more sexist things I've read on epic for a long time. If this woman finds something about her physique is holding her back from her goals and her passion in life - who do you think you are to object?

From GarryZ in another thread, but seems appropriate.

Why should she impress you ? What do you expect from women ? I'd bet she wasn't impressed by you either nor did she care whether you thought she was good enough for your intentions.

You, sir are a big part of the division between the sexes and the acceptance of female representatives at any level.

Does she impress you now as a former Senator and current secretary of State or does the fact you seem to think she's not your equal by birthright influence your thinking ?

I'm impressed and think she's quite an admirable woman. But I tend to respect people by their expressions and deeds and not what slimy picture you can conjure up in an elevator

Did she have a lazy eye or something ? Bad makeup ? She was never presented as a beauty pageant player why would her sexuality be a factor ? Heck it would seem Bill's not impressed by that either by his actions but he finds much more in her heart and soul that keeps them together

If after she gets the reduction she becomes a top player I will eat my shoe.

They might get in the way a little, but either you got it or you dont. Those gifts of GOD are not why shes isn't the best at tennis.

Ya know Richie, I never heard of this girl until you posted. Being a big fan of boobs, and seeing that your links were broken, I felt that it was my duty to do a search.

First thought was "WOW!". Second thought was that she may well have a point. I don't know how women deal with those things anyway. It's just too bad she can't be a breast-donor considering how many women would love to have a pair of those.

BTW - I think you should eat the shoe now. It seems that she pretty much already is a top player.

God gave us laughter, women also make plenty of anatomy related comments about men in sports. Let bygones be bygones once in awhile.
