ESA Registration is OPEN

We have opened registration for ESA Stowe, December 11-13, 2009, and ESA AspenSnowmass, January 10-14, 2010.

Hope to see YOU there!

(If you need any persuasion, we'll let last year's participants do the talking...)

“Having never been to an ESA before, I can say that this Big Sky function exceeded all my expectations.”  – Pete No. Idaho (Big Sky)

“All you folks out there who thought about coming but didn’t, you are missing it big time.  This is an amazing event, and the skiing is as good as anything I’ve had this season.”  – Habacomike (Big Sky)

“My first ESA event was a blast. As a newcomer I was impressed by the whole weekend. Everything was run soooo smooth…a credit to all those involved in the planning and running of the event..Thanks!!! It was really great meeting and skiing with so many nice people. Everyone was so tight….it was like a big family getting together during the holidays after not seeing each other for a while.” — fitn217 (Stowe)

“Many magical moments, from the full moon over the alpenglow from the Stoweflake parking lot on Saturday a.m., to the sneak preview of the online Encyclopedia of Skiing narrated by Bob Barnes on Saturday night, to the sunset run by almost the full group in memory of Stu on Sunday, and, on a personal note, being persuaded by Weems that, in my seventh decade, I might actually be able to ski a few bumps. Nothing builds your confidence like being coached down Centerline and Chinclip by a master.”  – evansilver (Stowe)

“My first time at epicski and I loved it. Convinced my wife to come and we are having an extremely good time.”  – whodat (AspenSnowmass)

“Robin Barnes was fantastic as a coach as usual. Even when I was feeling exhausted, her enthusiasm and ability to get pointers through my thick skull amazed me.”  – bbinder (AspenSnowmass)

“What a MAGNIFICENT week we all had. Superb coaching, beautiful weather, laughter, learning, challenges and GLIDE. Thank you to all. Good to reconnect with old friends, and wonderful to meet new friends. What an GREAT community.”  – margaritamarcia (AspenSnowmass)

“For a sideline view: along with Dan Egan, it was a treat to spend a little time with Robin and Squatty and of course Weems. All consummate pros with a deep passion and knowledge for the sport and teaching. The over all focused and positive atmosphere can only improve one’s skills and passion for the sport. If you can pull it off, you should definitely try to participate at least once at ESA.” –Alpinord, owner of SlideWright Tools and ESA AspenSnowmass ‘09 presenter

What perfect news on this hot summer day!  Count margaritamarcia and me IN.  Well be at Stowe and Snowmass.  Some of my friends have been "annoyed" at how much my skiing has improved since attending ESA's and are talking about attending as well.

Such good news! We sure missed the Bob and Marcia Show at ESA Big Sky. Lucky for us we had lots of powder to console us (not taunt just fact).

Don'tcha love hearing that?
I've had similar reactions from my friends.  Hoping I can convince one to come with me this year.

One thing that might drive more registrations would be to get the video from Big Sky up (hint, hint, hint).  I've been waiting for that video so I could have a good summer stoke...

Mike,
Jumpin on that bandwagon, too. (about the video) I beleve Chris was working on that. Just give me Wenesday's pow shots! That's all the stoke I need. Your right, that would provide enticement. Just give everyone out there a a little sniff of what we had going on at BS. I'm jonzin' just sitting here thinkin about it.

Yeah, I'm trying to remember how much fun it is to ski with you guys and what kind of conditions to expect, but I just can't...

Our coaches will be drawn from this group. I'm not involved with the video so can't comment on that!

We're teasing here, but anyone who's ever skied with that group knows that they're a fantastic group of coaches -- I haven't skied with all of them, but the 8 I've ridden with easily rank in the top 8 or so instructors I've met :)

Thank you very much for getting the dates nailed down early.  This si very helpful for those of us with difficcult schedules.

I noticed a change of venue for Stowe lodging.  The Trapp Family Lodge is lovely and should be fun.  I notice that it is a bit pricier than the deals we've been geting form the Stoweflake, but it may be worth it.  Just curious if there was a problem with the Stoweflake or if people were just looking for a change?

Momentum is a terrible thing to waste.

No problems with the Stoweflake.  An opportunity arose for this event to be at the Trapp Family Lodge, and the ESA team said,"Why not!"

Looking forward to seeing you again RiDe!

No. That's most of our clientele, and every year we have a group that has only skied a handful of days ranging right up to, well, CGeib.

 Sign up NOW Richie!!!!

Actually we'd prefer that all registrations be complete before Thanksgiving weekend to allow time to get our ducks in a row based on numbers, but we allow last minute registrations from time to time.

Looking forward to seeing you and Pop!

 Hi Nolo-
How much is deducted from the ESA tuition if you have a pass at Aspen and don't need lift tickets? They have changed the classic pass this year and I need to calculate if I will save money renewing the pass or just buying tickets from ESA. Deadline for on-line renewals for previous passholders is mid November.

The cost of lift tickets is $240, or $60/day.

For those needing additional tickets, that's the price too. Additional tickets can be purchased to start Sunday January 10, and must be used within ten days of the first day used on the pass.
