Gotcha. When my knees start huring, then I'll know it'll be time to hang it up and switch to gears. Hopefully not for a long time though. Gears are for road bikes ;-)
Not coming out to the SSWC in CO unfortunately. Heck they were in NorCal last year, 2 hours away from me, and I couldn't even make it then. ha! You headed there? Even if not riding, it's one hell of a party, scene, and...freakshow.
Despite the amount of climbing in this race, there was an equal amount of descending as well. It was a great SS course as there were no really long flats, or long gradual downhills where a rider with a big ring could really open it up.
Here's the link to my MotionBased stats (which slighly inflates the climbing I think) which contains the elevatin profile, etc.: http://trail.motionbased.com/trail/activity/8489467
Tinker Juarez competed in the 24 hour solo event and he lapped me once and we saw him throughout the night as I pitted for some teammates who were riding 24 solo. I don't know how many times I heard people yell "Go Tinker!" and he always, without fail, would turn around and say "thanks". nothing more nothing less. It was actually pretty funny to try and get him to say thanks. That guy is a legend and it was great to watch how smooth he is on the bike up close.
