Marker Bindings

Hi Guys,

New here and i just have a quick question.

I bought Marker M11.00 Free bindings.

Now i get that they make better ones for more cash.

but i took these ones up to the mountain and with in an hour or so of doing some very light park

work and a couple of jumps something in them snapped and i had to take them back and now

i'm wating on them to tell me where to now...

Has anyone else had any experience with these???

and can anyone tell me the best freeride bindings out there just so i can read the specs

and make my next decision a better one...

Thank You

Either upgrade to the Griffon of you are staying with Marker, a wider platform biding with zero ramp angle which is good for skiing switch. Or move over to a higher end binding that has more metal in ot than the 11 Free (which is a binding I don't put anyone more than a light adult on). Salomon Sth 12 or 14 would be a good choices.

Race bindings are pretty bomber. They have DINs up to 18 and usually are all metal where it counts. You can adjust ramp, as Philpug suggests with shims.

You can generally pick up old race bindings at ski swaps and 2nd hand stores. New, there about the most expensive you can buy, apart from randonee.

If you want to stay with Marker, I'd go with Griffons or Jesters. I was on a pair of Jesters for a demo earlier this year and had absolutely no problem on them. That and they are built like frikkn rocks.

So I heard you like Mudkips...

That is nice to hear. I'm looking at the new Marker bindings for resort and bc. Are the hole patterns for the Duke, Baron and Jester the same? Do the touring models as bomber as the non-touring setup?

The Touring models use a different pattern than the non touring. The Dukes and the Jesters are all metal, aside from the Dukes rails, which are plastic. The Griffons and Barons are both the same design as the Duke and Jester, but are plastic and have lower DINs. Really, both versions are solid, and both have their ups and downs.

I have the griff's and Jesters and have been very pleased with them. I really like the lightness underfoot of them.

I wish i could go the Jesters,

Anyone care to share the $$$ with me??

yes it's snowing around and inch or so.

Remeber when skiing in AUS you must be sure to aviod all the rocks, mud patches, little bits of grass.

So at the moments it's really crap here :(
