I think Rossi's having problems coming to grips with....possibly....he...uh...likes...the...'new'...skis. He's already collected more 'new' skis than I've ever owned at one time. This is why he really
needs a retro day - so he can make use of all that equipment in his museum and stay with the roots.
If you're on the fence with this event I'd recommend getting off it. For just the conversation alone - between Phil and Rossi, it's worth it. Those 'in the know' about retro gear should step up and contribute to this one. It's definitely something worthy of beholding - the conversation is priceless. I'm not sure how we managed it, but last season it was warm enough to eat outside on retro day - a rarity in Vt!
Perhaps this season we could have some sort of retro Jeopardy game - now that could be interesting. "Bindings for 500!"
We could also have the 'most excellent new ski invention' award. This year's award would go to Bob Barnes for his " Kramelet" binding. That's where the heel is fixed and the toe is free. Requires special straps for the lift....
Possibly, we could have it live online.
