Tiger drove the ball as well as he ever has. I heard on the telecast that he switched to a 10* driver.

He is simply the best!

Technically, mentally and physically.

One of the most interesting comments, missed by most but something he has said over the last few weeks, is that he has gone from being well enough to play (from the knee injury) to well enough to put in the requisite practice time to start honing his game to the level that meets his expectations and demands.

Astounding; absolutely astounding!  We are very fortunate to have him a part of our lifetime.

Is he physically even more developed than last year, or is it my imagination?

Not certain if he is inspirational or frightening for his intensity.  Can you imagine being his young child and seeing that look on your Dads' face?

Tiger is awesome no doubt. Birdie the final two holes to win. But, this time once again it seems that the other guys who had the lead might as well of handed the trophy to him. Byrd and Love both gagged it up the final three holes that otherwise would have only given Tiger a tie and a playoff instead of a win.

I'm not taking anything away from him believe me. I really think he is the best golfer in history. On the other hand what seems to make him better is the incredible way the competition seems to melt when he gets into contention.

His nickname should be that of a former Nascar great, "The Intimedater"

Did anyone else notice that Stevie Williams was helping Tiger read his putts? This is something that we saw rarely in years past. Is Tiger the "Intimidator" absolutely, he has brought a mental aspect to golf that it has never seen, even Jack didn't mentally dominate like Tiger does.

I can't wait to watch him at Bethpage.

Jack was always the best but during his career he had Trevino who was his nemesis for a while, then Johnny Miller got hot for about 24 months and then there was Tom Watson who had his number for a while. Tiger has yet to have that one person who could stare him down for even so much as a 12 month hot streak. Maybe that means he's better than Jack or maybe the competition just isn't as good. Since he's been dominating his segment of the sport for over twenty years I'm inclined to think Tiger's just a little better.

I am of the opinion that the competition is better now, much better. Back then, you had 6-10 guys that were good, now you have 50-60 guys that are good and can win almost any week. These guys now are in much better shape, they play golf 24/7/365 here, in previous generations, they sold, cars, shoes or insurance in the off season.

The "intimidator" factor of Tiger makes you wonder what it is that helps a contender overcome the intimidation, like last year ~ Rocco - US Open 2008 comes to mind.

I could use a lesson in shaking head games on the golf course(and on the bike trail and on the mountain, and...)

Tiger is all business while playing golf. He doesn't chat with the competition or joke around. He talks to his Caddy, that's it. He isn't friendly to others playing with him. This is partt of his concentration factor. And, when the competition can't get inside his head, it's very intimidating for them. This alone makes him like no other player in history. Jonny Miller was like this. He was a loner while playing. He used to get in Jack's head. Had he stayed healthy, he could have won many more times. Head to head, he was better than Jack. Jonny will tell you, Tiger has work ethic like no other.

How he did it: He hit a 9 iron a mile high and 175 yards.

How he does it: He's not human!

One of the other guys tried that and just barely put it on the green vs Tiger hitting his target.

I did notice that Tiger's upper body seemed more cut this year.
