What boot brand?

I've been wearing Langes for over 20 years. I've always had narrow feet but it seems that as I've gotten older they've widened to the point of not fitting a Lange as well as I'd like. I'm really tired of getting boots punched only to have them start hurting again in a few months plus it's really hard to know when you get it right as the pain from too narrow takes a while to kick in. I'm ready for a new pair and wonder what brand fits like a slightly wider Lange?

Steve...

Just my random $.01 online entry, but sounds like some of the problem may have been the fit throughout the ankle and cuff.  As area was produced...your foot slid a little more forward...thus meeting the wall again, only at a different angle this time.

As one with the large calves, thin ankles, and higher bone over instep..profile, get the right fit in these areas and a bootguy can do the rest, and with mucho experience and heatgun skills...you can help maintain.

Lack of solid stance/alignment foundation or one that you let slide...will often mask the improvements in the lower-shell fit.  Adding a little heel-lift, while maintaining balance and cuff-fit, can help pull toes back...as said many times.

$.01

Take a look at the Nordica racing lines.  A bit wider in front with a snug heal.  If it fits it's a great boot.

Thanks, I will. I was just so spoiled for so many years. Buy a Lange, put it on, go ski.

Lange (along with most boot brands) make boot lasts commonly from 95mm up to 104mm (lange make a 92mm race boot too) so there is not really a need to change brand as such, best advice would be to get to a good fitter and see what they recomend, it may be as has been said that the Lange is just not right for you in the cuff and you are sliding into the problem

good luck

Don't punch them out, grind.  If the boot fits well and the last is a bit too snug, a good boot fitter can easily give you some room.
