I happen to have the terminator stand with cinch vices, which I got from Alpinord, but Philpug has posted some creative pics of how to modify his portable tuning stand as well.

Check out these ideas

A base block with grooves would be a better option. (I was in a hurry. )

Strap is optional.

I'll send you the fork mount and cam clamp. It's simple and works great. The mount and vise slide as needed.

Here are some more sweet old threads on fairly cheap ways to make your own portable stands:

Those of us trying to make summer projects out of creating a t-track stand able to tune both bikes and skis and able to fit in a nyc apartment would be ever so grateful if Alpinord, Philpug, or krp8128 would be kind enough to remind us where they got their materials and approximate cost. Terry, I'm assume that as long as I succeed in creating a t-track base like Kyle's, you can provide all the proper ski vises and bike stuff like you have pictured above? Are t-tracks all one standard width, or are there multiple kinds?

More Ovaltine, please!
