Picabo Street named today as a U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame nominee

She'll probably make it, even among non-skiers, she's probably the most recognizable name among the nominees. Of course, it doesn't hurt name recognition when your name is Picabo.

 

In the team category, the '92 basketball Dream Team is nominated and will probably win.

A couple of years ago, I did one of those "behind the scene" tours of Fenway Park. The guide pointed to one of the hospitals in the area and said that Picaboo Street had been treated there for a serious injury,and then had donated a large sum of $$$ for the hospital's new intensive care unit. Which was going to be named ...............................the Picaboo ICU.

The USOC announced today that Picabo was voted into the U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame. Sarah Will, a paralympic skier, made it also. The late Andrea Mead Lawrence (she died in March) went in as the veterans entry to the Hall. http://tinyurl.com/nlzt4f
