Epic Pass 2009-2010

A couple of changes this year:

 1) No more "Buddy Tickets" for Spring renewal (used to be you got 4 for $50- that you could use all year) Now there are just the 6 variably priced "Ski with a friend" tickets.

2) No more "Peaks" points for purchase (last year you got 10,000 points which equalled 1 free lift ticket.)

If you purchase by April 12th- last year's price is guaranteed- $579 (although they frequently extend this price until May)

BTW: The Colorado Pass Spring renewal still has the 4 "Buddy Tickets" but they will be $59 this year

That's the question of the day.  There is some very vague info on that and the dates are different for the Epic Pass and the other passes.

Some info can be found on the www.vailresorts.com  web site as well as the www.coloradopass.com web site but it doesn't seem to tell the whole story.

You can renew online as of now and in person at the ski areas next week (ONLY).  You can renew in Denver locations till sometime in mid-May.  I plan to renew mine at Vail on Monday. I'll ask and see what I can find out and post the results (if they even know) here Monday night.

I renewed mine today online.  All you need is your pass number and, of course, your credit card.  Took about 5 minutes and was a fairly "green" transaction.

Ski like a redneck!

Thanks UL & Cube. I had hoped to make it out to Vail this week, but it didn't happen. Just used the pass 6 days in January, which paid for it and then some. Hopefully next year more times to Colorado.

Good move on NOT getting here. The weather sucks here right now,  snow conditions VERY ugly here for this time of season. Though it was fun skiing "VT like snow" (after a typical rain/freeze cycle) again.

I'm inside working right now - 2 days in a row - that should say it all eh, Roundturns.

Last week was hot.

3 years now since we made some turns isn't it RT?  Next season?

Actually last spring at Breckenridge in the bowl, where you guided us so capably! I sked in Feb and March in Utah this year but the March trip was really bad . Came back on 3/23 and I think Alta has had snow just about every day since!.

Next year for sure, I'm working on some work related things that will secure trips to Colorado.

OK, here is what I got for info at the season pass office today.

The Colorado Pass.

First time buyers can get their pass at Breck or Vail till 4/19, or at the Denver locations through May 10th.  First time buyers must buy in person.

You can renew online through 5/31.

Same price as last season, $439,  and it looks like the same benefits. The only change is this season'e four $ 50.00 tickets that were loaded on the pass when you purchase in the Spring went up to  $ 59.

The Epic Pass

The deadline for the $ 579 deal was yesterday.  They raised the price to $ 599 this morning.  The cut-off date for Springtime purchases was not announced.

Details on what the passes include can be found by clicking on the links noted in post # 3 above.

I just found out about the Epic Pass.  Sounds like a good deal but wanted to hear from some others.  I live in Texas but should be able to ski enough days to make the pass worth it. Haven't skiied much in CO; usually UT and WY but will be doing the ESA in Aspen.
The world is full of people who think they can but few who try.

You won't be able to use the Epic pass at Aspen...now if you're skiing one of the Vail resorts before and/or after, that's another story.

 It's simple math.
An average ticket at a vail resort is between $80 and 90 dollars.

Thus, if you plan to ski more than 10 days at any of the Vail resorts, it totally makes sense to buy an Epic Pass for $599.

Simple math says that at $80 a pop it takes 7.5 days to break even on the epic pass.

Just checked the vail site and apparently they are no longer offering the Epic Pass. Is there any way around this? I could have sworn I checked yesterday and it was still available. I was planning on heading out to Colorado in February for a month and the Epic Pass was basically the only way I could afford it.

Go for it.  Lot of other good skiing out there, what about copper/wp pass for $419 or A-Basin/Breck pass for $359, or Loveland for about $370.

you could also try calling them, but I think they extended past the original 11/15 cut-off a few times so they may or may not help you out
