541 road cycling miles for October, 294 in the last 8 days. This will probably be my last 500 mile month until next spring. I'm 4654 miles for the year and will hit 5000.

I'm also down 35 lbs this year, my lightest in 20 years.

Cheers,

Michael

Amazing accomplishment Michael!  My goal was 1,000 miles this summer and I didn't reach it.

Great job!  It must feel absolutely fantastic for you.

Very impressive, Michael.  My month cycling was a paltry 30 miles from my first ride in 6 weeks.  I did, however, complete my first walking century on the West Highland Way in Scotland.  It was fantastic.

Hi SkiMangoJazz & Mike,

Thanks for the props. I'll be able to look back on this year with a healthy sense of accomplishment. The challenge going forward is to maintain and improve my fitness.

Mike,  the Scottish walking century sounds great... as long as they keep the haggis to themselves.

OK Folks I am definitely in better condition than I was at this point last year.  I thought!  Seeing the calender say November got me thinking more about adding some flexibility to go with my increased endurance.  So, today I added some light stretching to my daily routine.  OMG!  My middle aged hip sockets now want to pop and I have little snaps, kinks, and pops all over my body that I'll need to whittle out before Thanksgiving Saturday.  I recall my first day out two years ago (after a 10 year layoff) I pulled a muscle in my back just booting up in the parking lot

Smell that?  Winter's coming!
