hard boot binding

Hi Folks,

I was skiing Mt Bachelor and saw a guy riding a board with regular ski boots. I was unable to hook up with him and find out what kind of bindings he used to connect a board to hard boots. Does anyone here know what is used or are the two worlds still separated too far?
Thanks

Hardbooting is a blast.  He may or may not have had ski boots on.  Snowboard hardboots look like ski boots a little bit.

Head to Bomberonline to see all of the best toys.

Then:

See the forum to ask any questions you may have.

A lot of the reason that the worlds are "separated so far" is that hardboots are not the optimum freestyle setup.  That does not mean that you cannot do FS in hardboots, it is just not really what they are made for.  Hardboots are for carving, freeriding, racing, etc.  They give you more control and power, especially at high speeds.  They are generally used with narrower boards at higher angles.

It is great fun and I would bet that there are a bunch of guys in your area that would love to help you get started into the "dark side" of snowboarding.

If you are in Portland, give me a shout,  I can get you up to speed on "Alpine Snowboarding".
Where do you ride at Mt Hood?

I thank you for the offer, sorry not to see it until now, I dropped out of sight. I ski Meadows, Timberline and try to get other places each year.
Problem: I tested in the autistic spectrum this year. I am 57 years old so I have half a century of social failure and do not want to trap you on the mountain with a social obligation. Kind of you to offer but I am laying low while trying to learn how to live with the new knowledge and restrictions.
