Gov. Jon Huntsman Jr. served up the most broad-based changes to Utah's alcohol policy in four decades Monday, signing legislation doing away with the state's one-of-a-kind private clubs law and changing the way restaurants can serve drinks.

Oklahoma also had no legal liquor by the drink and used the private clubs loophole up until  1985 when selling it by the drink became legal..  They also had a law preventing liqour stores from selling anything over 3.2 % alcohol at tempeatures "cold".  So, since Miller, Budweiser, Coors, etc prefer their products being sold cold because they don't store well at higher temps you couldn't buy them except for the watered down 3.2% versions.  As far as I know that hasn't changed to this day.  Does Utah also have 3.2 % beer and will the new statutes allow real beer to be sold cold?

I'd rather be skiing

Utah was still the land of 3.2% beer, in January.

I wonder if these new liquor laws will truly increase destination ski trips to Utah.

still 3.2 beer around here, but this isnt really monitored much as most of the local breweries sell 4.0 beers @ the store (i know, i know, but still, its something).

and you know i doubt that the number of skier days will really increase as a function of liquor laws. do people really sit down and decide vail instead of park city because they can get heavier beer at the grocery store?

shit maybe they do
