Alpendorf ,Austria

Just got back from 2 weeks at alpendorf - which is a 45minute car journey from Salzburg airport.The snow was fantastic with a mertre of freshies followed by 2 days of brilliant sunshine so that wecould play in them and then another 1 metre dumped down.I almosr cried when i had togo home - back  next weekend and i'll try to get you some proper photos - butif any of you yankee cousins were thinking of comingover to experience europe now would be a great time

Was this during Feb 16-20? Because I was in Kitzbuhel during that time and I got the same conditions... the off piste was amazing!

thanks for the report.  Since I am close by there I may check it out.  How was the snow there and what´s the most difficult slope rating?

Itinerary

I got within about a chairlift from Alpendorf on a trip over there about six years ago.  A lot of great skiing near there, much of it lift-linked.  Ski areas all over the place.  Good lifts, beautiful scenery. Considerably east of St. Anton, more near center of Austria.  Lower elevation slopes topping out around 6000 or 7000 feet.  Good for quick usage by tourists arriving from flatlands.  

Must be real nice with a thick blanket of white.
