Rossi S3 Pommier v. K2 Extreme (Public Enemy)

Still thinking about a twin tip for all-around off-piste use here in the east (and occasional west coast trip).

Was looking at bigger skis, but the price and local reputation of these two skis has caught my attention.

Anyone use/ used the Rossi S3 or the K2 extreme (or previous season Public Enemy as I'm told they are the exact same ski-is that true??) as an all-arounder.  Any thoughts?  I have have a slalom ski, and I have the Head 88 (175)-I'm looking for a fun, playful ski-a little softer than the head, decent float, quick enough for eastern trees and bumps, and yes, I'm trying to add some air-time, tricks and park to my skiing game.

Any thoughts on either ski is helpful

I ski the Extreme out west for everything but deep pow and it's a lot of fun.  I highly reccomend that you demo some. You'll be surprised how they carve, float and bust crud.  Super light and snappy..and stable up to GS speeds. Fav in the trees uo to 20 inches.

I have the '07 PE, not the '09 Extreme, and I think they ski great (just had 'em on the moguls at Gore Mtn. NY yesterday and they did everything I asked of 'em).  However, I would not describe the PEs as light (did they changes anything when they built the Extreme?).  I'd say my Fischer RX8's, Watea 78's and Atomic Nomad Crimsons are all lighter skis than the PE (in similar lengths).

I have not skied the S3, so I can't compare the two skis.  I would suggest that you also throw the Dynastar Trouble Maker into the mix.  It is lighter (cm for cm) than the PE.  If I were looking for a new mid-fat TT ski that can be used both in and out of the park (not sure this is what you want, since the Extreme isn't billed as a park ski), it would be on my list.

Best of luck on your decision,

STE
