Surely there are a few Bears that enjoy playtime in a FUN automobile....So what does your car quiver contain and what kind of 'play' do you enjoy most? I'll go sequentially...Remember only FUN cars qualify (No transportation)

1965 Triumph TR4a IRS w/od. College project, still have it.

1967 Triumph GT-6. First car, towed it home when I was 15, had it ready to go for spring of my 16th! Still have it....of course

1987 BMW 325is. This is one of my favorite all time Bimmers.

1991 Mazda Miata. Bought new in 1990 (I never buy a first year car )Many Jackson Racing goodies.

1998 VW GTI VR6. Coilovers, bars, chipped, exhaust, intake, etc.

2002 BMW 330ci w/sport package.

2003 Mini Cooper S. Rear bar change, intake.

My fun car is an Indy Stock car , disguised as a family station wagon (Caprice).  I had to go with stock, as oposed to race stock, engine, transmission, suspension, body and tires to accomplish the disguise.

I enjoy enjoy fun cornering most, drifting high speed sweepers and seeing how many times faster than the recommended speed I can take the slow-speed corners at.

One of my fun games is balancing trail braking, cornering force and acceleration around a tight corner so that the magnitude of the force is constant through most of the corner, with only the direction of that force changing.  I also like playing with transitions mid-corner.  By transitiions I mean going from understeer to oversteer and changing from trailing throttle oversteer to power sliding, sometimes with a bit of understeer thrown in as the front lifts before the rear breaks traction.

The fastest car I ever owned was a 77 Trans Am 6.6 that the prevous owner set up with his buddies at the Grummon motor pool.  It had a crane cam, 11-1 pistons, Holley double pumper on a high rise manifold, B&M shift kit, 289 posi rear end.  It wasn't the fastest car I've ever driven in the 1/4 mile, but it had a sick top end and handled OK for a car that heavy.

I just remembered that it also didn't have cat converters and would run on regular gas.  I used to put 110 octane in it if I was expecting a challange.

During my high school years (mid 80s), I had a '76 Triumph TR7.  My father and I rebuilt it.  It was pretty much stock except for the wheels, tires, suspension, and the Monza exhaust.  I like to think of it as my little canyon racer.

I would love to have a mid 80s Porsche 911 for a fun car.

I had a 77 TR7, dark green. aluminum wheels and wide dunlop tires. Great car but had the dreaded electrical troubles that plagued Triumphs.

Hi Lars,

Mine was a 76.  After I graduated in 87, I got the family 4wd truck and sold the TR7.  I got tired of dealing with those dreaded electrical problems.

My fun car that more matches the majority's idea is my little 98 Ford ZX2.  Not crazy fast, and was bought for fuel economy but has turned out to be a very fun driving car.

For "my" idea of fun is my truck.  Highly modified.  I have lots of outdoor "flatland type" activities.  I use it for hunting "about anything that has a season", camping, fishing, carrying my quad, offroading, etc...  For example instead of leaving my truck at the highway and taking the quad to the campsite, I can just take the whole truck, quad, gear, people all the way up river to the camping area.
