Recomendations for a old school racer looking to improve new racing technique

I am a former college racer (JV - good, not great) and moved from straight skis to new skis in 2004. Immediate jump in performance boosted me about 20 spots in my local beer league (Nashoba, MA). I have continued to improve a little, but am sure that I am still using a lot of outdated technique, and leaving a lot of perfomance in the ski.

Can anyone recommend a coach/instructor in southern New England for occasional private or semi private lessons? Possibly may get a small group of like-minded beer leaguers to do lessons together.

Primarily I'm looking for free-ski work and instruction/feedback on "new" ski racing technique. a small dose of gate work might be nice to have to get a feel of applying a technique in a course, but not necessary.

Recommendations, thoughts, advice, and alternatives welcome!

Welcome to Epic Lance!

See if Rick Metcalfe is still at Nashoba Valley.

Q? There are two Mexican firemen at my local fire department. What are their names?

A! Jose and HoseB.

Yep, Rick is still there, at least I think it's the right Rick. Great guy, and good teaching temperment, from what I can tell. I got to know him a bit with him when I coached Buddy Werner there for a couple of years. I think he's coaching rovers and tied up on weekends, so not sure he would be available.

The only issue I have with Nashoba is that for learning, it is hard to link enough turns together to really get a feel for a new technique, or identify a problem.

I live in Haverhill, MA, and have about a 2-3 hour radius of places I would go for the right instructor. For example, Loon, Cannon, Sunnapee, wachusetts, definitely close enough. Berkshires, killington, Pico are a stretch, but maybe for the right instructor. Stowe/Sunday River/Jay Peak - too far.

Also, am I posting this in the right forum? Should I be posting it under something else?

Thanks all!

There were two Portugese kids in my ski club at Pico. Guess what they were nicknamed??

Lance,

Talk to Rick and see if he has any recommendations. I think Jeb Boyd ended up working at Waterville. His brother Matt is up there and Mick O'Gara is too (last I checked). Brian Whatley at Stratton would be another good choice.
