We saw some out here at Steamboat and looked really impressive for a clothing line. They are currently not available in the US, I was told they would be coming next season. Do any of our friends north of the border or from Europe have any experience with the line?

We just got Jackets, Pants, Shorts, and Softshells for our Masters team - I have a house full of the stuff and it's really cool. Nice features, seemingly good construction.

I'll report more when the stuff comes back from the embroidered and we get to test it out.

Cheers!

Please keep me posted, Finn and I ran into the rep out here, from what we saw, the stuff looks real nice. I am going to have my softgoods buyer look at it at SIA this year.

I worked out at the Birds of Prey in Beaver Creek this year and the volunteers got Halti jackets. I first thought the jacket was kind of thin insulating wise but after being out in all kinds of conditions that week I must say I was very impressed with the quality.

I saw some Halti products at reliable racing so you may want to check there as well.

Phil,
I skied in Halti stuff all last season. I have the SRD Halti pants and coat and I have been pleased with the warmth and durability so far. The whole Modern Ski Racing team was wearing them last season and everyone seemed pleased with them. My brother's ski team has opted to get all Halti coats this year (identical to mine actually), and I just spoke with the SSD at Greek Peak this weekend and they are looking into going with all Halti clothing for the ski school next season. I'll probably stay in the Halti stuff for several seasons now.

Greg

The power of accurate observation is commonly called cynicism by those who have not got it.

Halti is the official clothing supplier for USCSA, which I find somewhat odd because I'm not aware of any official USCSA clothing other than hats (Swix) and t-shirts. I think it was the western regionals last year that had t-shirts with a nice, big Halti logo printed on the back. That said, I conclude that Halti makes nice cotton t-shirts - even if they may not actually be made by Halti.

I know nothing about their outerwear.

My son's club opted for Halti for soft shell products, so he's getting a jacket and shorts for Christmas. The quality certainly looks and feels very nice.

Halti is in the USA via theier agent at: haltiusa.com in Lake Placid. We also have been selling Halti for the past 3 years at skiracingdevelopment.com

Great product and strong race supporter: 2007 and 2009 World Championships, The FIS, Finland Ski Team and as mentioned Beaver Creek BOP. (Halti is Finnish)

Quality and materials is better than virtually any brand I have seen, and well priced. They are the market leader in Scandanavia.

They are making most progress in the states as a uniform supplier.

Eh... not really, but they are a major player. It's hard to tell who is the actual market leader, but both Peak Performance (Swedish) and Kjus (Norwegian) have much larger market shares than Halti.

Since there is no SOS here in the US, I am limited. Currently, I have been limited to Cloudveil and Arc'teryx. Halti looks like they lines that are along the Arc'teryx quality and design.

Halti is a Finnish company that is very race oriented but also make snowboarding and new school type of lifestyle ski and outdoor clothing. Kalle Palander has his own exclusive line. Ski schools and racing teams are using Halti and they are by far the biggest player in the market in Finland. For being such small country Finnish sporting and outdoor companies such as Halti, Amer, Exel and Suunto have been very sucessfull in the global market. Amer owns such brands as Atomic, Salomon and Wilson. CEO is a well known skier.

Quality wise Halti is no better or worse than other same priced brands. I think from a design perspective they are very attractive with functional details. If you like zippers you cannot go wrong with Halti . If you want higher quality look for more expensive clothing.

Actually Kjus is Swiss and Peak Performance is Danish. Peak is perhaps bigger than Halti globally- Luhta is also very large. Halti is the fastest growing though.

Halti at Windham Mtn

The (excellent) ski shop at Windham Mountain, in the Catskills region of NY, stocks Halti. The store is called Windham Mountain Sports, I think.

The one piece of Contemporary SOS I have has been amazing but you're right, its very limited and difficult to find.

I'd be interested in seeing the Halti line.
