SierraSkis.com Volkl Auction Ended

Sierra Ski/Snowboard is stepping up big time for this auction. Sierra is donating YOUR choice of a winning prize, The winning bid will get his/her/their (if you want to share a pair with another member) choice of one of the Volkls that are listed below. Quite frankly, I am impressed, these are some sought after skis, not some leftover everyday skis. Kuro's are one of the toughest skis to come by this year. This will be a no reserve auction and the bidding should and will go high. So, bid early and bid often. Bidding will start at .99 cents, I am confident that they will go up from there. Bids must be at least $10.00 more than the previous bid. Along with your bid, please post what ski you are bidding on. All proceeds will go to making Epic a better place to talk about skiing, we need a new couch in the supporters lounge, there are burn holes in the old one, I really hope they are from P-tex drips as I was told.

....But wait, there is more...if you bid with in the next 14 days, shipping is included!

Bidding will conclude on December 15th at 8:45 PM EST.

Your choices.... (click on links to see sizes and details)
Volkl Mantra 133-96-116

Volkl Gotama 133-105-124

Or do you think more bigger is better?

Volkl Katana 141-111-131

Not enough? How about...
Volkl Chopstick 148-128-148

Volkl Kuro 164-132-139

Or for the ladies:

Volkl Kiku Womens

Volkl Aura Womens

What will you ski on this winter?

Just for clarification... There will be only ONE ski given out, so just because you were high bidder on a Mantra and someone was higher on some Chopsticks, the member on the Chopsticks wins the skis.

Since the object is to raise some money and nobody else has started, I will start the bidding on the Gotamas at $100.

All lengths that are in stock are available for auction. Each ski model in the first post is a link. Click that link and look at the sizes available and other details about the ski. I notice that only the shorter 175 is available in the Kuro. The rest look to have a pretty good selection.

Please feel free to PM sierra_canuck (Tyler) for details. These skis are in very high demand and is the most interesting ski auction we have ever been able to hose thanks to SierraSkis.com. The way this works is the one winner gets their choice of the models.

I'll try to stop by the store later this week to fondle my new skis.

Chopstick $275. Think that will stand?

Just skis. Let's check with Tyler if they will ship to the great white north and if there will be a surcharge.

I wanted to clarify the terms of the auction. In the post above, Ski=Free placed a bid for $275 on the Mantra. Is there a point in bidding that price on the ski when the post above is $360 for the Chopsticks? The last line of the first post says that there is only going to be one ski given away. So for example if you wanted the Mantra you would have to bid $370 for the mantra to have a shot at winning. Is that correct?

That is correct. The winner gets their choice of the listed skis. This is not an auction for six pairs of skis. The $275 bid placed by Ski-Free is invalid. The next bid must be $370 or more for any of the models listed, and the current high bid is $360 by Dgudaitis .

Edit: $370 for the Chopsticks

Only if you pay more than the value of the prize you win. If you pay more than the skis are worth, you can deduct the difference.

Edit: Any chance of getting 185 Kuro's out of this? Or will you not be getting any more?

Hmmm, cheapness has set in. EpicSki is not a qualified non-profit organization, and I'm not paid.

I'll raise my bit and change my mind. $380 for Katanas

psyche!

Good point, in that case it doesn't matter if you pay more than the skis are worth, no deduction.

Adverting/ promotion write off for the sponsor is still valid.

SierraSkis.com has been very good to EpicSki and its members. Time to return the love. On the other hand, if you choose not to out bid me, I'm okay with that.

Oh yeah, I'm not trying to encourage people not to bid, just clarifying the answer to ut_hucker's question. I think this is awesome of SierraSkis, definitely. I'm personally waiting to see if there's any chance at 185 Kuro's before deciding if I want to jump back into the bidding.

The skis up for auction are only those "in stock" at the time of bidding. Looks like the kuros are available in 175.
Can I pout because there isn't an Aura in the mix?
