Good for them.

I'm slightly surprised that a tiny hill like Appy has one and Beech and Sugar don't.

LTR boards are great to learn on and I love teaching LTR classes.

I teach snowboarding and pegger ski biking at Winter Park Resort.
What's pegger ski biking?  Glad you asked!
Ski biking at Winter Park on a powder day...ahhhh.

Appalachian Ski Mountain

Appalachian Ski Mountain has reinvested 2.5 million dollars in snowmaking and other improvements over the last two years.

Best parks in NC. Great people.

A resort has many criteria to evaluate when selecting a supplier for their rental fleet. Manufacturers have to compete for the business and each have their own pros and cons. On of LTR's strengths (integration with the school) could also be a weakness (the deal making becomes more complicated and the teaching methods could conflict with existing school philosophy). What would be really surprising is if every resort chose LTR. Watching our resort family switch over to LTR was like watching an episode of deal or no deal.

Rusty

I guess I missed most of that joy.

When I switched from Loveland to Winter Park there were different school philosophies. Since my orientation clinic leader was Chris Hargrave and my Adult Program Leader was Earl Saline, I just figured it was in my best interest to say "Yes sir, I'll teach it that way from now on!" "No more teaching sideslipping". On LTR's it was basically "Go take that LTR over there!" . No indoctrination speech.

Winter Park, Copper Mtn, and Steamboat all use LTR. I think it is better than the rental fleet they used to use. That gear sometimes appears on the most massively of busiest holiday weekends.

I guess more than anything is that I grew up skiing at Beech & Sugar. I still think of them as small bullet-proof ice hills.
