Ive skied the ski and loved it. It was one of my top three when demoing skis. The switch definitely works but I think you will find a position you like the ski best in and leave it there. I am a big guy ( 240) and would highly reccomend it. As a matter of fact I even know where you can get a pair.

PTEX,

How would you compare it to the AC-50s and the 8.7s?

BTW, any chance you could PM me a price on the 8.7s? In the market. Much thanks.

I have spent significant time on the powerswitch skis in all their variations. Despite the nose thumbing from some, the system works. Is it like two different skis?....no. But it IS like a turbo dial. This means that you could turn (tune) the performance up or down according to snow conditions, your mood, or phase of the moon.

Trying to quantify this is silly but if forced at gunpoint, I'd say that the difference is somewhere around 10-15%. Another way of looking at this is that with the switch on, the ski feels 3-5 cm longer.

I think that for your size, any of the switchers would work well. Which one just depends upon your personal terrain priorities.

I did not find it as stable as the AC50 in crud

The setting that worked best for me was cruise. I did demo on a
low visability day which did not help. The ski was just a little to
wide at 89mm under foot for where I ski. Price was too high too.
Attaching a power switch to the AC50 could be a good idea with
it being not so wide.

One of the reasons I didn't like the Marker SC was that you had to adjust it and most people never did (another was that it was a lousy Marker toe), I jsut don't see people changing this, especially when it is all the way on the tail. Has the switch frozen up.
Click. Point. Chute.
