Long Post
Yes, I have got mine. I got to ski them in 20" of powder when I was at Taos. I had no problems with them, and the decent pics I have are in the Taos TR thread.
Kyle did a great job on these. I had not skied powder that deep before, so I was learning to ski in powder, and deal with new skis at the same time. It was a lot tougher than I thought it would be. Thanks Simon for being patient enough to give me some pointers. It really helped, but my technique, and conditioning need to improve, before I can max these bad boys out. After a couple of pointer from Simon, I started to get the hang of it, and the skis absolutely slayed the powder, and crude, when I got decent enough to ski them. They were forgiving, and did not buck me off when I made stupid mistakes. I have nothing but good to say about his work, and professionalism. The topsheets were a concern, but in my opinion, they are not scratched anymore than my other ski's. These skis liked to get down into the powder, about 6-8" and then they cruised from there. They were not floaters, but they did not stay under the powder very far. I did not have time to adjust the bindings fore, and aft, so they could be completely different when this is done. There was really no groomers to try out, and I did not see any moguls, as this was strickly a powder day. The few powder piles I cruised around, did not present problems, so I would say these skis would be great in anything, but tight moguls. If possible, and I can get someone that is going to Taos that I trust, I will let them air them out, and give an extensive report.
My wife chose not to try hers out just yet.
As a side note, I gave my wife, and child the same pointers that Simon helped me with, for the next day, but they gave up after a couple of runs, because it was just too hard for them to get around in the powder, and deal with the horrible wind that was at the top of the mountain. My little girl starting puking on the last run, so we got her down, and fed, and called it a day, because we got worried about her. Maybe I should have gone back up for the powder, but I was too worried to do it..
I whole heartily endorse Kyle, and whatever he chooses to do with his ski business. He busts his ***, and his work shows it. Good dude, and I would not hesitate asking him to do another pair
Right now, I do not know if I will be able to get back out this year, as I have run into a buzzsaw in my personal life, and that comes first.. I will probably have to sell a few pairs of my skis, so in the next few days, look at my quiver pictures, and I will price them to move
