Hannes is famous for developing the Arlberg technique, named after the mountains he grew up in. This is on the Lower Arlberg.

It is interesting because many of the trails have been given new names since I was a kid. There was the old and new rattlesnake, not the rattlesnake and the skimeister.  The trail to the skier's right of the ledges was the middle trail.

Have you been to Cranmore? I see in your profile you've been to many places in NH.

Never been to Cranmore that was purely from looking at the trail map. Usually only ski the same 3 mountains since we're only there for a week and we stay in a time share accross the street from loon mountain.

Name this trail.!!.....

I couldn't believe it.??....I was skiing Stowe for the week and on this day we woke to 8" of white. But, Goat AND Starr were closed. Oh swell.

I found other trails that I liked. (smile)

When those 2 trails are not open you really miss the best part of Stowe as far as advanced trail skiing goes. I think Starr has one of the  best entrances to a trail in the northeast with maybe Paradise at MRG. And Goat what a classic trail one of the best in the east, once you are in you are skiing it to the bottom, no way out to the "easy" trail.

there is a side entrance for both of those trails that is 100 percent legal to use according to Stowe Ski Patrol.
