I don't know much about this...any other thoughts as to whether this is a good price? 62% off "retail"
Swix Alpine Tuning Kit:
The Swix Alpine Tuning Kit turns your workbench into a ski shop. This specialty package's vices are compact and lightweight so you can use them at home or bring them on your ski trip for quick tuning jobs at the hotel. Slip the non-chrome 4mm file into the two-angle guide to sharpen your edges just the way you like it. Swix threw in a tuning manual with all sorts of tips, and included a nylon bag to keep it all together.
Bottom Line:
Why pay someone else to do it?
Features:
Contents:1 Non-chrome 4mm file, 1 two-angle file guide, 2 vices, instruction manual, nylon bag Recommended Use:Ski/snowboard tuning

I've never done my own tuning, so maybe my perspective is off, but it looks like the vices aren't made for holding the entire width of a ski (even a narrow one). To me, it looks like they would hold a ski on edge, so it is thickness that matters...correct me if I am wrong.

Looks that way to me too. I suppose to work on the bases you are just supposed to let the skis rest there....?

I missed the deal, so I guess it is moot now, but they might be able to hold the bindings (or brakes) when upside down for waxing??
