I have always had a problem with pole plants and even now, if I am not conscious about it, my hands fall by my side and back. I was watching some video and realized that one of the reasons this happens is because my home base hand position is not quite right. As I grip my poles right now, they are perpendicular to the show surface. I think they should be flared out and making a shallower angle with the slope. Anyway this is probably basic info for most of youse, but figured I would share it anyway.
