The FIS is putting live and on-demand coverage on the World Championship Sports Network (WCSN)...includes full World Cup coverage with Men’s and Woman’s Super G, snowboarding, nordic combined, freestyle and ski jumping events, starting Nov. 11. You can pay month to month ($4.95) or for the year ($49.95), but you get access to all the sports too...and other on-demand videos, highlights, photo galleries, editorials, etc.

Okay, I'm stupid...

...even though (1) I'm a child of the McLuhan Age and (2) I faithfully read the "Subscription FAQs" on the WCSN website.

So what's my question? Here it is: I don't want to watch the damned thing on my PC...I look at a PC all day...I want to watch this fabulous coverage on 65-inch HDTV...so how do I do that?

I just got a cheapo 37" LCD at Costco and my laptop plugs right into it. Needed a special cable from BestBuy

You may have a DVI-I output on your PC if you have a high-end GPU, otherwise you will need a VGA to DVI cable. The resolution of streaming video will look terrible on a 65 inch tv, so I wouldn't bother, personally.

Will the races be archived immediately after, in case I cant watch live?

Also, any way to save the stream to watch offline?

Tom is Palander already back after tearing L ACL 1st run of finals GS at Are? That would be awfully soon if he underwent reconstruction? I will be rooting for Markus Larsson to continue his winning form or Stephane Tissot to finally get his gold. Otherwise of course Ted La-Getti as the euros pronounce him. Perhaps young Nippon racer, Naoki Yuasa, who appears to be a carbon copy of Mr La-Getti but so far has only been a one run wonder. Thomas Grandi is surely one of 5 best skiers on planet right now. Has won GS but has better odds in SL. Maybe Thomas will be the King of Lapland?

No Im not attending and yes, Palander is back. He was not going to attend the GS in Lech but this is a race he cannot skip. Its a historical race since its the first time a mens WC race will be be held in Finland. Im not familiar with Markus Larsson, where is he from? Sounds like Sweden.

Everything will be available on-demand, along with other events that aren't broadcast live, editorials, galleries, etc. Most will be members-only content, though, so you still need the subscription.

WCSN Blackout

I signed up on-line yesterday to watch the action this weekend, but all I get is a blackout message for anything I try to view. I called in to customer sevice this morning and was told they can correct the problem, but only if I have a landline where they can call me back to verify my location. I haven't had a landline for 5-6 years now, so according to the guy I talked to I'm out of luck. Looks like a major weakness in their system. Surely there are ways around this. Any suggestions? I suppose I could log on at work tomorrow and use that as a call back location.

Huh... what are you talking about? There is full coverage on Canadian television this weekend of both the women's races at Panorama, and the men's speed events at Lake Louise. I watched Saturday's races back to back.
