Mine are 05 / 06 model so I mounted them at factory position. Dynastar label on tip of ski is Silver with "Dynastar" written in black.

The 04 / 05 version was sliver with "Dynastar" written in silver. this version had the COB mark 1.5 cm farther forward.

I used the Look lifter plates that came with the binding and am pleased with the extra speed it lends to hardpack. I think without the skis would seem sluggy on hardpack.

Excellent user manual, and I really like the ski posters on the hot box, they are a nice touch.

I can't say as the peak is a problem for wind at all.

In fact it acts as a good wind deflector to direct some wind A. above my goggles for better defogging and B. to stuff some more air under my helmet to keep me cooler.

On the chair when it's windy it's nice as you just drop your face down and the peak blocks some wind for you from your face.

More plusses than minuses in my book.

I know it will break someday in a spill and when it does I will likely just leave it off, then.

Kudos Marmot, very well done! Why limit one's quiver exposure to one pic? The more the merrier I say!

Wait a second…just as I’m getting nerve to expose my warped quiver now I see Marmot’s multi-sport gear shot…

…including rackets, golf clubs, climbing gear! There has got to be a limit…some rules. All I have is a Pilates ball, I can’t possibly compete.

TMAS29, great pics. It's one thing to flaunt gear in a normal pic, it's another to do it with flair.

Great pics ! Especially the last one. Shall it be called "Binding the Cup"

Agreed, this is exactly the sort of creativity I hoped to encourage when I started this thread. The quiver pic as an art form.

Well done TMAS29!!! :

There are no rules, but bear in mind the following sage advice:

Marmot, I've heard that the place to mount the 8800s is -2cm from the line. However, I'm guessing you like yours mounted on the line.

For the 05 / 06 model, I can't imagine why anyone would want them further back than factory marked. They work pretty darn great at factory.

I suppose if all you ever did was deep blower perhaps, it would be worth it.

To be honest if I had adjustable bindings I would move it ahead 0.5 cm for better tip engagement on the hard stuff and deal with it off piste or move it back again for deep days.

Probably is more personal preferance and how the skeleton lines up in ski stance.

Well, several pairs are obviously old and straight, like me and therefore retired, unlike me.

Some only get to go out and play when I go west. Some only get to escape my dark basement for a trip to race camp.

For the rest, I have a big warm, comfortable Thule 600 and I will give out boxes of crayons to poor ghetto children to come over and load it up for me. They all seem to love the bright colors of the skis and the crayons.

Now I will admit that even after all that, I know I need some intervention. Maybe by Willi Wiltz or one of his guys.

Thanks for listening.

My modest collection. But I tend to unload what ever I don't use. If I took this pic a few days ago, there would have been 2 more pair of Powerkarves in it (183, 193)

Carve, any chance of me getting those Markers from the red Fischer Vacuums?

You had no problems with tip dive and such with them mounted at the factory line?

Oooohh, I dunno Phil. I'd have to think about that. As you can see, I have a bit of an unhealthy attachment to some of my old gear. I cried for 20 minutes after learning that my wife threw out my lime green Molnars - my first ever pair of skis. But now I know she only did it because our kids needed daddy alive.

I'm not sure I'm ready to let them leave the nest right now. Are they that hard to find? I'll let you know if I decide to cut back on my old gear, but I do have a pretty big basement.

Donate the Markers to Epicski right now. We can auction them to the highest bidder and send them to Phil, like the Volant shirt he so graciously donated under a similar scheme.

Phil has given away more gear through this site than anyone. You will never use those skis again unless you put tele bindings on them (bad idea, put tele bindings on shaped skis, you aren't going to 'bend the shovel' with free heels, forget about it, the Fischers are worthless). Throw away the skis. I threw away seven pairs recently. I miss them, but I'm better for it. One pair was VR17 like yours with limited edition Markers.

Phil, I'm hurt that you didn't want my M30s. They were much cooler than than MRR, looked better too.

You don't need those white bindings carvemeister, give 'em up for a good cause!

Would you think about letting go of the Dynamic/Look set-up? No, I didn't say that. God help me.

Thanks Telerod! I am all for that idea.

I will give you another option...I plan on making these:

Send me the Markers and I will send you back a door knocker. (This is why I don't need M30's )

I know you make stuff out of skis too. My Markers were turntables like that. The white ones look great on that plaque, but my black (with red springs), I could have screwed them right on my door, kicking myself now.

I forgot the model number, I had M30? step-ins and the knocker style were M15 Limited?? We had this conversation before, I can't go downstairs and check model number anymore, sob. All gone, all gone...

Havent been in any real deep stuff. but have been in some knee deep and under and no I can't say as there is any tip dive at the factory spot.

I assume you have some new 8800's and are not sure where to mount. If you have the chance buy the bindings that allow you to move them fore and aft. Sorry can't remember what brand and model they are. I want to say Naxo. Then you can move them all you like.

I like mine right at factory for 05 / 06.

Our modest quiver. We unload what we aren't using. Just sold 3 pairs of skis and two snowboards at the local swap. Wish we had more snow and time to use what we do have! The white ones are my wife's and the little ones are my 5 year old's.
