When looking at films on youtube I found a series of films of event-winning runs from last season's world cup circuit. Just log on to youtube ans search, under "ski dh" keywords there are about 6 or 8 films that look loike they were taped from european TV coverage.

No commentary... that's a rarity here in North America. Everything here has to be analysed so that the average joe shmoe can suddenly be an expert. This will get me through the weekend.

I have a Windows media copy of the german coverage (ARD) of the 2004 Hahnenkamm race. Though I speak very little german, I find the commentator for that race very entertaining, the way he gets excited by excellent skiing..."ah, sehr gut!"
I also managed to make out his comment about Daron Rahlves being a "Steilhang Fetishist" ha ha.

My favorite moment in these films is at the end of Lindsey Kildow's run when she skids to a stop and looks up at the timing board, and (you can hardly hear her) says "Oh my God!"

And the huge smile on her face, as she is soaking it all in, is priceless, too.

Here's an epic video my friend and I made yesterday while running through the streets of Seattle [on a $15 pair of skis from Value Village].

1,700 pictures taken for just 2 minutes!
