Je prends une Maudite biere!
I went to check out Onaping ski hill today. They don't have a bar to have a beer in after skiing. I was feeling a little tired (don't really know why; I went from 9:00 till 4:00 last Saturday without a stop), so I knocked off early rather than risk a high-speed wipe out due to fatigue. Earlier, I had made a bit of a faux-pas, I had to alter my line to cut in front of someone coming down a hill I was crossing, leaving enough distance to be safe, but with me having to make a rather abrupt turn in untouched snow if I wanted to continue on my planned path with my SCs. I had almost lost it the run before in just about the same spot due to the sudden deceleration (glasses were completely sweat-covered and I couldn't see squat in terms of terrain bumps, crud, or flat groomed), but this time I was ready for the hit and all set to power through the turn. The turn was a bit too much though and my binding let go, followed by the other binding. I ended up yard-saling with a bit of a sore thumb (thank you whoever posted the vide of the MD saying not to wear the straps on the poles or I might have had worse). I told you all that just now to explain that I had to stop on the way home and by some ice-cube trays.
Anyways, after getting the ice cube trays and doing some grocery shopping I noticed there was a beer store right by the food store, and decided I would have my beer after all.
Maudite is a pretty good beer. About the right strength (of beer flavour), consistency, alcohol content, and everything else. Just a bit of complex spice flavour with a little too much cinnamon that it would be better off without imho, but I can live with that. It's much better than average.
Only problem is it only comes in tiny bottles, like most beer in Ontario. Oh well, I suppose it's not that hard to open two.
