Right ! Now we need to make it skinny and integrate it into the bindings ....got the idea ?

So when you are thrown from your bindings it auto ejects and throws out a plume of tape, easy.
I tried to invent this in 1989. I failed. My machining skills are somewhat less than my limited powder skiing skills.

Oh yeah, since actions speak louder than words, I should explain my theory on this subject. I obviously have a deep seated religious belief that a pair of powder cords left on the kitchen counter or stuffed in my pocket will insure that I never lose a ski in deep snow

Still about 10 better than a snowboard. For snowboarders the only solution is Intec with Intec pants (a step in system attaching to your pants, pull the cord in the pants and falll out).
Just this week I got pulled away by a ground near avalance (maybe 50-150cm high) in a 55° deegree chute. That damn snowboard just got sucked in by that avalanche. I seemed to travel faster than the avalanche with it.
However once the avalanche slowed down some 300feet lower I was happy bout my board as I could snowboard out of it to the front overtaking that damn avalanche.
Without a board I probably wouldn't ever have been into it. So a lot safer.
On skis I would allways use powder straps.

Yep... skis attached =bad in avalanche... but only because it's a sharp edged sword... not because it's an anchor... large items tend to float to the surface of the slidee.. maybe y'all might try avi I in addition to the awareness course...

X 2, definitely, no pole straps, no ski straps in deep conditions.
