Nice vid Phil.  And I'd have to agree that the hating of  Lawyers is hardly a new thing.  However, I think a lot of it has to do with ski binding companies trying to make a profit.  I'm personally amazed they indemnify bindings as long as they do.  I suppose too many people would cry foul if they took bindings off the list 2 years after release, but were I company trying to turn a profit, I'd try it.

And the meat of this post is way old school, but nice chutzpah in asking this question ghost.  You had to know that a series of lectures was on the way, but you asked it anyway.  You must have been desperate for a solution.  And you didn't even get one! :)

I can report that upon last testing the 490 binding's on-slope retention function was working fine, and the in-the-garage release function was working fine too.   I haven't tested the on-slope release function in decades though.  Still if I didn't have my credit card debt, I would get some new Tyrolia race bindings.

The Marker twincams did pre-release when going straight over a bump (ok a hollow actually that really decambered the skis). The skis weren't worth keeping anyway so they got donated to a yard sale.

The Solomon 202s never inspired that much confidence anyway.

The other Solomons, .  Wife's too afraid to try 'em.  She doesn't seem to be much of a thrill seeker.
