I've skied 34 of the well known areas in UT, CO, MT, ID, WA and NH during my 25 years of skiing. I skied my first day at Terry Peak in South Dakota and have been back a number of times since. As near as I can tell from the other posted lists, its the one place no one else seems to have on their lists. Too bad, its surprisingly good skiing.

There is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothes.

ONE LAST PLACE!!!

Vicksburg, Mississippi, Civil War Memorial Park

When I was 9 or 10 (1980 or so) we lived in vicksburg for a year and that winter they had a record snow fall, 1 foot or so. My parents took my brother, some friends (who skied that were stuck in MS too) and me to the civil War Park. We would ski down and ride up in the car, my dad was about the only one who could drive in the snow there. We actually made the local paper!

Not as much as you would think. The 'slope' was divided roughly into three sections, sort of like a descending staircase. As the rope tow to the very top was not functioning the top tier was pretty empty. You could 'ski' down, pop the skis off and run back to the top all in a matter of about 2-3 minutes depending on your willingness to book it back up.

It was pretty boring other than the novelty factor of 'skiing' while it was 95 degrees outside. The trip later degenerated into a snowball fight at the bottom area.

The rental equipment was another story...rear entry boots w/ hardly any liner left...surprisingly they actually had relatively late model (within the past 7 or 8 years) Salomons, Elans, Rossis...sadly the edges on the skis were about as sharp as...the handle of a butter knife. Yeah, the handle.

A pretty interesting place overall though. I'd recommend everyone at least try it if you're ever in the area.

I've skied there. Rode the old single chair. Also, got stuck at the "resort" one time because an avalanche buried the road. Had to wait a couple of hours for the road to get cleared. I also partied at the Red Dog Saloon in Cokeville.
