Welcome to our first-ever Gear Guide for the 2012-13 Ski Season!

Philpug and Trekchick (Phil and Tricia Pugliese), our Gear & Reviews Editors, have distilled last winter's rigorous ski testing down to their Top Picks in the various categories to assist in the quest for the perfect sticks this season. Phil and Trish participate in numerous ski tests throughout the season to provide our community with a steady supply of "boots-on" reviews of most of the new skis before they hit the ski shops. This Gear Guide pulls all that excellent information into one handy chapbook for anyone in the market for a new pair of skis and particularly those who feel overwhelmed by the array of attractive options on the ski wall of the sporting goods store. We hope you enjoy the guide and -- whatever skis you're riding this winter -- we all get lots and lots of snow!

Tricia Started skiing in Michigan when she was just out of high school.  Little did she know that a seed had been planted for her life long passion.

With a desire to improve her skills she attended EpicSki Academy and, later, became a part of the organizing team for ESA.  Tricia now resides in the Lake Tahoe region where she has worked as a ski instructor, and is currently in ski sales along with being one of the Gear Editors for EpicSki.com.
Phil grew up in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania and started skiing in the mid 70’s. Being a self proclaimed gear junkie and collector, Phil has worked in many facets of the ski industry from retail sales, management and buying to being a rep and consulting with manufacturers.

Phil currently is one of the buyers for one of the premier ski shops along with testing and reviewing products as a Gear Editor for EpicSki.com.

Nice gear guide. Well done.

Interesting Phil. I also grew up skiing the Poconos (Blue Mountain, Big Boulder, Jackfrost, Shawnee, and Elk -- Elk was my favorite), and would take trips once a year to Vermont. Now I live in Colorado and ski the frontrange: Eldora (like this place because it reminds me of some of the small family owned places in PA), Copper, A-basin, Keystone, and sometimes Breckenridge.
I would also like to ask Phil abot his height and weight (since I am a big guy, 6'1", 235 pounds) and am interested in equipment that works best for talk and heavier people.
Neustkg, If you click on the links for each ski you'll see that Phil's information is on each individual review that he does.
Here it is for your convenience
