'Bringing An Old Center Pole Chairlift Back To Life'

This old chairlift came off the Eldora - Corona Bowl lift from way back when. It did not have the welds nor holes for safety bar, thus I really think you held onto the centerpole. The legs will come off of course and plan is to convert this piece of history into a backyard swing in Denver, CO. Can anyone identify the maker? Year of introduction into service? I think it maybe 1950's vintage. After refubishing this delight and install with ball bearings to swing, will show the final project. "she thinks I'm nuts when I brought it home and hid in garage." Any comments or ideas much appreciated.

I'll feature your article on the homepage so you can get some input. In the meantime, another one of our members wrote an article about bringing an old Riblet chair back to life that might be of interest: Bring An Old Chairlift Back To Life
This will turn out great. Now I am looking for one too!
The only question is whether to put it inside or outside, either way it's a winner.
Believe it or not, we still have those in service here in Minnesota.
I'm anxious to see pictures of the final project! Good luck and have fun with it!
without looking at the grip not sure what make it may be. It reminds me of an old lift style that we tore down at one area many years ago called a Heuron (?). old 50's style with a grip that was bolted over the cable rather than inserted like a riblet. Always wished I had kept a chair, same idea make a swing or porch chair. I was goingto get a piece of old cable and suspend chair from cable. Now take that idea and add a sheave assembly and you would almost be back to a lift.
